In this insight, we analyzed how Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and GDI change over time so that we can see if there is any correlation between the two. To achieve this, we make a dual axis line graph about how the two metrics change from 1990 to 2021. It is visible from this graph that during that time frame both increase over time. The graph clearly depicts an upward trend for both indicators during this period, indicating a global increase in the average country's wealth (without accounting for inflation) and a simultaneous advancement in gender equality. To assure that this is an association between the two, we found the correlation, yielding a value of approximately 96.3%. Based on the graph and the correlation, we believe that GDP and GDI are correlated.
