Education & GII

Insights

In terms of GII, most countries in Europe scatter between 0.01 and 0.1, while countries in other regions scatter with large variations across 0.1 to 1. This implies a much lower level of average gender inequality index in Europe than in other regions. Countries in Africa have the largest variation in terms of gap in secondary education, but a relatively similar distribution in terms of GII values (somewhere close to 0.5). In general, most countries in the world have a gap in secondary education within the range of 10 percent.
